Penninah Twinorugyendo Mugisha holds a PhD in Environmental Geography from Nelson Mandela University. She acquired Master of philosophy (MPhil) in Geography from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and Bachelor of Arts in Education from Makerere University. She joined Makerere University as an Assistant Lecturer in 2010 and is currently a Lecturer at the Department of Geography, Geo-Informatics and Climatic Sciences. The courses she teaches include Regional Development Geography of America; Agriculture, Environment and Development; Development Geography of East Africa; Ethics, Gender and Sociology in Disaster Management; Rural Development and Settlement Analysis and Planning. Her research focus is in rural and urban livelihoods; Gender in agriculture and rural development. She is a member of Uganda Geographical Association.
