Fredrick Ruguma Tumwine is an Associate Professor in the department of Geography Geo-Informatics and Climatic Sciences (DGGCS), Makerere University. Having graduated as a geographer at bachelors level specializing in Geomorphology, he mastered in Demography and acquired a PhD in Population Studies. He was Head of department of Geography, Geo-informatics and Climatic Sciences from 2010 to 2015 and President of Uganda Geographical Association between 2014 and July 2019. His research rotates around poverty reduction, family issues and climate change. He is a great proponent of environmental conservation specializing in hydrological geographical innovations.
